I ran across this, and I thought I’d share the link with anyone who might be following me. I think the story is a good one because it points out duality of the prayer. It doesn’t address the fact that the other side is probably making the same prayer (but for their side), but I don’t think it needs to do that to get the point across.

Universal Health Care
Imagine a spaceship landing in a farmer’s field. The ramps comes down and a few almond-eyed aliens hobble down it. They are met by the angry farmer who asks them what they’re doing and why did they have to destroy his field. They answer that their ship is on it’s last leg and they’ve come all the way across the galaxy for the universal health care.
I was reminded of this story idea because of this. I know it’s a tenuous connection at best, but I’ve had this idea for a while and haven’t really done anything with it. This attempt could be considered a very rough first draft.
