Script Frenzy 2012

I made the frenzy
With more than enough pages
And I’m glad it’s done.

Yay!

I think next year I’m going to try to get just over 100 pages, try to find a good stopping place or way to end the script.

It’s Still a Frenzy

I’m still frenzying,
Though my page count is over,
The story’s not done.

Script Frenzy 2012, the Halfway Point

It’s been a frenzy
Of writing a script this month,
The page count rises.

57

That’s right, it’s Script Frenzy once again.  I’m ahead page count-wise, but behind story-wise.  But, I’m confident that I can get done in time.  (Or, at least, have enough for the page count – 100.)

A Thousand and Some

I recently found
I’ve written a thousand posts;
It’s hard to believe.

WOW!

Although, with about a post a day, it’s not quite as unbelievable.  The number comes from WordPress, I didn’t actually count them.   :D

Brown Christmas

I’ve been singing the first half verse of this since I was a kid because, while we do get snow fairly regularly where I live, it’s not usually white on Christmas day.  The dead, brown grass, and any leaves that haven’t been collected litter the ground, as well as the dirt itself, all lend to the general perception of brown.  It’s been a long time, but I finally decided to complete that parody started so long ago.  So, here’s my attempt:

I’m dreaming of a brown Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the winds will whistle
And children bristle
To hear “there will be no snow”.

I’m dreaming of a brown Christmas
With every card I send around
Enjoy the leaves still on the ground
And may all
Your Christmases be brown.

Nano 2011 Week 5

Not a full week, but here are the numbers; on day 28 I got to 47606, day 29 – 49315, and day 30 – 51001.  So, yes, I’ve made it once again (yay?).  It’s still nothing publication-worthy (not that most things written in 30 days would be), but I may be getting closer to writing something that would be worth rewriting afterwards. But making it seems less impressive each year I do it.

NaNo 2011 and Other Things

NaNoWriMo is here again, and, of course, I’m participating.  Day 1 I wrote 1713; day 2 I got to 3439, day 3 I got to 5113, day 4 I got to 6825, day 5 I got to 8507, and day 6 I got to 10200.  Interestingly, Devo Spice is participating this year; I wish him good luck.

In other news, there was an earthquake in Oklahoma last night that was big enough that I felt it at about 10:55.  I thought it was just a wind gust at first, even though it was rather sustained for that.

In still other news, on the local news they did a special on one of a kind towns in Kansas, and they asked people to write on Facebook what makes their town one of a kind.  Well, I don’t have a Facebook account, and I would have felt almost as compelled to write about other towns I’ve been to as the one I live in now.  And, besides, if they wanted to find what made any one town ‘unique’ they could just go to that town’s Wikipedia page and look for something.  Now, I know that not every town will have much more than a stub, in which case uniqueness would be hard to find, or, if the town’s small enough, it may not have a page at all (I don’t know what they consider relevant or notable).
